At Valley Protective Services we receive phone calls and emails that describe strings of burglaries and vandalism that occur. In those phone calls or emails we are asked to keep an eye open and help catch or deter these crimes from occurring. As team mates the most critical information is sometimes overlooked or not shared.
When a resident reports these crimes to you, please make it a habit to ask Where it occurred? And What time did it occur? Crimes of opportunity typically have a pattern I.E. what time the kids get out of school, when residents leave for work, or early morning hours when most people are in R.E.M. sleep. With this information we can adjust the times we work your property and increase our chances of catching these criminals. Also, discuss with your Customer Service Representative different programs we can deploy, VPS does not always need to be in uniform and on a bike. VPS can deploy plain clothes officers to blend in the neighborhood and conduct surveillance on areas that are more prone to criminal activity. We can deploy bait cars and bikes, and or provide unmarked patrol cars that blend into the neighborhood. Sometimes the stealth approach is what a neighborhood needs..
